Phone in Toilet 03.11.10

Don’t worry, not my new phone. But I was alerted while sitting in bed by my mom screaming. At first, it scared me, because her scream made it sound like the ceiling had caved in. But before I moved to check it out, I hear, “My phone went down the toilet!”

So I was just like, I have get up and see this. My mom loved her phone. She almost shed a tear, but then my brother and I were just like.. really? But my mom probably feels naked right now without her phone. What she doesn’t realize is that she can literally get a new phone tomorrow morning. But she will figure it all out. She was more sad at the fact that the phone she had isn’t made anymore.

My mom is caught back in the simple flip phone generation, where the flip phones were the IT phones. My mom is, well, a smart woman, but 3rd graders know more about technology than she does. Overall, children now know more about electronics than older people, because it was their generation that grew up with it. Like for me, I had a computer in every school I went to growing up. And as the years went by, the computers were updated, and we were all taught how to use them. I guess my mom just missed out. Haha. But my point is that she hates all of the new intense high-tech phones. She loves the simple little flip phone. It may be time to move up in the world mom. Sorry. Times change.

So back to the story, R.I.P. simple brown & black Samsung flip phone. You will be missed. I tried to make the save by putting on a yellow cleaning glove, and going about elbow deep in toilet water, and had my full fore arm up the first twisty thingy in the back of the toilet. I couldn’t feel anything, so it must have just gone right threw. But look on the bright side! It is probably experiencing the gnarliest water slide EVER. So go phone, GO! NEVER STOP! Maybe my phone hated my mom, and this was it’s escape? We’ll never know. Simply because I am not a detective, and I’m tired, and I have a long day tomorrow.

So good night world! Keep your phones away from toilets!
This blog is dedicated to my mom, and the loss of her phone.

iPhone-ized 03.07.10

I have finally conformed to having an iPhone. It took me a while to realize how cool they actually are. And then last friday my phone broke, so I went straight to the apple store, and picked myself up a brand new iPhone.

I am on my third day of having an iPhone, and I must say, I am very pleased. I am specifically amazed by the whole app thing. Honestly, with the phone itself, and the apps, you can do whatever you want to do with it. I did some searching, and I can even get an FTP app to upload stuff to my website server. It’s just unreal. I also now have Bloons and Bloons Tower Defence on the go. Life is good now.

Honestly, I feel like the iPhone is just the future. One day, everyone will have one. It’s pretty much a computer on the go that you can make phone calls with. It’s almost messed up. And tons of people have iPhones already. I want to say about 3 out of every 5 people I know has an iPhone. Apple is taking of the world, and one day Steve Jobs will rule the world.
